YES

Who should watch this movie: Fan’s of Denzel Washington’s filmography. Shakespeare nerds. People who think they hate Shakespeare.

When should you watch this movie: When you just found out that Denzel Washington has been in a Shakespeare adaptation. When Love, Actually won’t cut it.

The sell: This is the best Shakespeare film adaptation out there and I am prepared to die on this hill. Much of that is to do with the stellar cast. This movie is packed with stars from top to bottom (including Imelda Staunton in a non-speaking role), and unexpected stars at that. Not only does this movie have practically every member of the Royal Shakespeare Academy, but also Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, and Michael Keaton. The result is a perfectly delivered movie, which takes Shakespeare’s dialogue and, through performance, elevates it to a level of comedy that is universally accessible. Bonus: This movie has three weddings and it’s not gross!
