Who should watch this movie: People disappointed by Amazon Prime’s “Hunters” starring Al Pacino. People who have recently seen Schindler’s List
When should you watch this movie: When you’re pissed off at the world. When you’re working on perfecting a Tennessee accent.
The sell: This is one of Tarantino’s less boring and less predictable movies. Though it is set in the midst of WWII, this story has nothing to do with the history surrounding it. In fact, much of this movie flies in the face of historical accuracy and by the end just shits all over it. The one fact grounding the movie in any sense of reality is that Nazis are bad and should be killed. And in this movie they are killed violently and with flair. Brad Pitt leads a rag-tag team of Nazi killers whose strategy goes awry, resulting in a whirlwind of ridiculous action involving Diane Kruger and (surprise) other people who want to kill Nazis. Christoph Waltz is the perfect villain, in fact I think I’d be afraid of him if we ever met in person. At its core, this movie is just really satisfying and is worth it to see if for no other reason than “watching Nazi’s get killed is fun.” Plus, Brad Pitt’s accent is hilarious.
