Who should watch this movie: Fans of movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Thin Red Line, and the 1996 Hamlet
When should you watch this movie: After you have had some coffee. When you need to be reminded of Timothée Chalamet’s face.
The sell: I know being obsessed with Timothée Chalamet is kind of a meme now, but damn that boy can act. This movie would not have worked if he had not picked it up, put it on his shoulders, and carried the entire production from start to finish. I cannot overstate how essential Chalamet’s performance is to the effectiveness of this movie. And that is because this movie is otherwise pretty dull. Though the plot is generally about a boy turned king turned man, the focal point of the story is a single battle. It’s hard to say exactly what went wrong, whether it was the editing, the pacing, or the writing, but the story doesn’t flow. New characters are introduced in the last 10 minutes of the film and it makes no sense. Pros: Robert Pattinson’s french accent. No St. Crispin’s day speech Cons: Bowl cuts
